New initiative aims to create sector-focused investment groups, bringing experienced industry leaders, entrepreneurs and investors closer to founders..

Gurugram, India | May 15, 2026: Venture Garage has announced the launch of VG Sherpas, a sector-focused investment initiative aimed at bringing together experienced entrepreneurs, industry leaders, operators and investors to support emerging businesses through a combination of capital, industry expertise and strategic guidance.

Built on the philosophy of Capital + Sector Expertise, VG Sherpas seeks to move beyond conventional investment models by bringing experienced industry professionals directly into the startup investment ecosystem. Through specialised sector groups, Sherpas will identify promising businesses, participate in investment opportunities and work alongside founders to help them navigate industry challenges, build strategic relationships and scale their businesses.

The initiative will initially focus on FinTech and Consumer, with plans to progressively extend into HealthTech and DeepTech Sherpas, followed by other emerging sectors. The expansion will create specialised investment communities around industries where domain knowledge, operating experience and access to relevant networks can play an important role in building successful businesses.

The FinTech Sherpas are led by Vineet Sagar, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Venture Garage and the consumer Sherpas are led by Aditya Joshi, Managing Partner-VG Angels.

The Sherpas operate as a Special Interest Group (SIG), focusing on early-stage consumer brands and consumer technology businesses, primarily at the Seed to Series A stages. The group is exploring investment opportunities ranging from ₹50 Lakhs to ₹5 crore per company, while enabling experienced consumer-sector professionals to participate in the growth journeys of emerging brands.

The launch builds on Venture Garage’s broader investor ecosystem of 3,000+ angels and high-net-worth individuals, alongside its network of venture capital funds, family offices and institutional investors across India and international markets. Venture Garage evaluates over 2,000 business opportunities annually, bringing a structured approach to identifying and engaging with promising companies.

Commenting on the initiative, Vivek, Founder and CEO of Venture Garage, said:

Capital is an important part of building a business, but the right industry understanding, experience and relationships can make a meaningful difference to how a company grows. With VG Sherpas, we want to bring people who have built, operated and scaled businesses closer to founders who are at that stage of their journey. Our objective is to create sector-focused investment communities where capital and experience come together to create long-term value..

With VG Sherpas, Venture Garage aims to deepen its participation across India’s startup ecosystem by creating specialised investment groups that combine sector knowledge, investment participation and founder engagement. As the initiative expands into HealthTech and DeepTech, it will open up further opportunities for experienced professionals and investors to participate in businesses operating in specialised and emerging industries.
